Halloween Sunset

Well, that's another 31st of October passed. I'd hoped to get a lot more done for the Halloween Countdown but as I kept falling behind I sort of hoped visitors would look at my last years countdown or my Tumblr page. And I missed the coffin races this year. Last year the races gave me three or four good posts but it wasn't until the 30th this year so I regretfully gave it a miss. Well, I can only add this shot of the sunset tonight and my last minute gang of jacks. This might be the last year I'm giving out candy. There's just not that many trick-or-treaters around here to make a fuss. Next year I think I'll just catch some parties.

So with that, my thanks to all the visitors and posters, hope you had a Happy Halloween and have a good day after!

Nooooooooooooooooo! Not another casualty of Hallowe'en due to disappointment!

Please, please, please reconsider! If not for people like us, kids will only have trunk or treat to remember, and they'll think that's what Hallowe'en is all about!

Aw. Thanks for that but a lot depends on the circumstances next year. One issue is that almost no one on my street turns on their lights for Halloween, so the trick-or-treaters have to walk half a block uphill in the dark for a few paltry pieces of candy from me. I can't really make it worth their effort. Also, it seems like 1/3 of them are in their mid to late teens and I reckon they can get their own candy from the store. And there are other personal things I have to consider. I only mentioned the possibility in the first place because I was kind of groping around for a purpose for the post. I will celebrate Halloween regardless, until the day I die, I just might want to actually enjoy myself for a change. I've kind of had my fill of carving pumpkins and standing by the door all night every year when I should be out having fun. I have to take care of my elderly father and as long as he's alive I can't throw parties at my house. So, we'll see what's going on next year. I may even have to work or something. Thanks for the encouragement, though!
