Famous Monsters of Filmland founder Forrest J. Ackerman died yesterday at the age of 92. I'll always remember the hours of joy the magazine brought me as a kid. May his memory live on. AICN Obituary Portraits by Mark Berry
I am a french fan of fantastic movies.. Here in France, we have no conventions of fans like "MONSTER BASH" or others, but mister ACKERMAN is a LEGEND, an archeolog of sci-fi cinéma and horror movies. Long live to ackermansion, because legends never dies...
I've never been to any conventions, I'm sorry to say. Unfortunately, most of the Ackerman collection was divided up in 2004 after he had a stroke and almost died. It would be nice if the collection could have been kept together but he felt that he needed the money at the time and sold a lot of it off. I don't know what will happen to the Ackermansion, itself.

What a sad news...
I talk about it in my own blog, with a link to Spooky Lab.
Best regards...
